Pinkish Purple thing

I have a clump on my rock (fairly new 2weeks) growing. It's pinkish purple in color and have no idea what it is. Coralline algea? or something else?

I will try to take a pic of it tonight and post tomorrow.

Any suggestions on what it might be is appreciated.

Is it hard, and a thin encrusting layer? If so, then yes, coralline. If it is projecting up off of the rock, then it could be a sponge or even a hitchhiker coral.
