I have a question about the new pleco I bought. I know it is a freshwater fish but I am sure this issue spans the salt barrier.

I got him about 18 hours ago and as I was turning the light out tonight, I noticed that he had a long string of feces. I had never seen one this long. I checked it for worms but I didn't see any. For the most part is is solid dark in color and seems normal except for the size that exceeded approx 5 inches. Now is it because of the abundance of algae in my Q tank or something more serious?

It needs more fiber....

Seriously, it is nothing unusual for a large pleco. They are very productive pooper, and if they don't wiggle around much, it just keep on getting longer and longer. 8O
