I'm using mine with an HQI ballast. The ballast overdrives the bulb to a bright 12-14K appearance, with the best PAR possible for a Radium. Not sure how I'm going to feel about replacing it every 6 months, though.
Thanks Karl. I picked up the HQI ballast and ordered the Radiums.
Currently I am running XM's and they seem dimmer on the new ballast (I only set one up with the new ballast) have you heard of that happening?
I have heard of XM's looking a bit more purple on HQI's, but I think that was with the higher K bulbs. You won't be disappointed with the Radium on HQI's, though.
This is the performance data for your bulb. This bulb and ballast is the best combonation. Radiums runs best, when observing: PPFD (PAR) and EFFICENCY, on HQI (M80) ballast compared to other ballasts. All bulbs generally speaking run awesome on HQI (M80), but will decrease bulb life.
