Well my 55 gallon system, despite my best efforts, seems to be thriving and coming along just fine with the exception of an anemone that died.

It was in bad shape and I exercised very bad judgement in buying it.

Still no nitrates and no hairy alga blooms. Back and end glass is covered in green and red "crusty" alga and purple and pink corraline is appearing in many spots on the back. Millions of pods (fishless so no predators to eat em) and lots of worms.

All the white rocks are now covered in variuos growths of one kind or another. The zoa 3 bud colony is now 6 buds. Added a colony of green buttons (palythoa) 2 weeks ago and they seem to be doing well too.

Clarki clown and royal gramma are in QT for one more week, then the pods better watch out!.

Decided to get a Coralife skimmer as it can be used as hang on and in sump, and I may yet add a sump. Not sure yet with it being in my bedroom, may be too much gurgling.

Want to say thanks to all who post here and share things both good and bad. It helps to have a place to go and learn/share.

John.
