I don't think another anemone would help. Another clownfish, though, might. Yours has a bad habit .... kinda like it's developed a taste for spicey foods.
You can get away with any clown in a 150g. Do you mean housed with the maroons too? That's a whole other story. Adding more clowns isn't going to solve your shrinking anemone problem though.
Misunderstood, you ment take the maroones out and put another type in. Well, I guess I either have to live with what I have or change it around. That will be tough, I have had the female for five years and the male for two. IYO, do think a 40 gal. will be to small for the clowns and a host?
My maroon did the same thing. I moved it to a fowler. I think the 40 would be fine as long as the lighting is good. Is it already running? Anemone's don't seem to like new tanks.
I have no experience with anemones yet, but FWIW you may want to reconsider the carpet anemone in the 40, unless it is the only thing in the tank. They grow very large and will eat fish. But if the tank only contains the maroon pair and the one anemone you should be fine. Of course, this advice is coming from an anemone virgin, so take it for what it's worth
LOL, yea I know about the carpets, also the maroones are a social fish too. I am going to have to deciede what other fish to put into the tank with the carpet. It isnt going to be for a while so I have time to think..The maroones are particular about whose goes near the anemone too
