today I got a new Alk test kit and I got 15 Dkh which is very high but my corals never looked better before (this last week the hard corals were growing unusually fast!).

I've been dosing kalkwasser as usual... do you recommend me to stop with the kalk? I have some liquid calcium from Kent, do you guys think it could lower the alk in my tank.

I know the best thing to do is to run a water change but I'd like to know if the kent liquid calcium can lower alk and if you think I should stop dosing kalk even thou the corals look great.

Thanks

What Alk test kit are you using?

I wouldn't add anymore Liquid Calcium

You can try doing some water changes to lower the Alk a little.

I had the same issue and water changes cured it for me. My ALK was 16 and it took about 3 weeks of water changes and not running the CA reactor to get it down. I agree that the corals were growing well, but I wasn't gettting any polyp extension. Now I have both growth and extension. Good luck.

Luis - I never tried those kits or heard much about them. Just to be safe, Do you know anyone else with an Alk kit ot the LFS?

If the corals are doing good then things should be OK.
