Storing a tank

How long can you store a large tank on end? I just picked up my new tank Friday. Because of the weight I had to tip it on end to get it out of our van. Because it takes up less space that way I left it over the weekend. Should I lay it down or is it OK on end?

IMO it should be fine like that indefinitely.

I agree. I had a tour at AGA about 5yrs ago. they store their tanks in all sorts of positions.... on its side is ok....

Cool. In this position it only takes up a 26x26 foot print as opposed to a 54x26 in the normal position.
