How much would you pay for monthly tank maintenance??

Most people here are in the hobby...and you probably won't get an accurate figure because of that. If you target TV shows, celebrities who don't have the time but would enjoy a tank, and large display tanks in public areas - libraries, car washes, hospitals (my friend is doing an $8,000 doller setup next month for a local hospital), etc, you will get people to pay way more.
This same friend has a Rap artist who drops 500-700 a month easy on his 200 gallon tank. He's always getting new fish, new equipment, and when he gets bored, removes fish that are "boring", and my friend then resells them to other people who don't change their minds so often.
It's slow to start though - most of it is word of mouth.

Thank you all for the input. I am not going to jump into anything i am going to learn a lot more before i venture out yet. I am working on setting up 125 so after i get that the way I want and can give more advice that I ask for then it will be time.. Thanks.
Its different in every market. Here its $1/gallon if you own the equipment and its just a FO tank that requires a visit once a week. $2/gallon if its a reef tank and requires more frequent visits. I try leave a magnavore at each tank so that they can scrape their own algae every day. Its a daily event on one of my 90 gallons with dual 400watt MH's.
