Huh? It's a TruVu 60 g with the "Aquasystem" in the back. I added some more pump power, a drain and return from the sump.

It does look like that.
But I may be misinterpreting it, too.

(I'm trying to figure out the walls of the tank. They seem to have some extra layer of grayness or styrofoam insulation or something.)

I think the extra thickness you see is the internal piece that actually sits on top of the tank inside the hood.

The other grey part appears to be the bottom supports you can see through the water and bottom pane of glass.

I don't know why I never responded to this.

There are 3 returns. Two in the front corners, one in the back center. The one in the back points straight down to hit beneath the rockwork. The two in front point at a 45 degree angle at the corals.

This is what the tank looks like new. He bought it used, with the stand. Then he called me to set it up for him.

I of course gutted the back and drilled holes for a sump, return, and closed loop. He's got two enormous BTAs, this clam, a nice male Scott's fairy wrasse, and a flame angel. Lots of assorted softies/mushrooms, and I'm going to start stocking with stonies pretty soon.

Here's a shot I took earlier this week. I'm pleased that the coralline is finally covering all the live rock.

Plumbing pics you like you say? Here's some I did for a customer...

I did not setup the streams.

I did not make the sump. It was made somewhere out west. I forget where right now.

Is that a tee on the return pump intake? If so, then that's an "exhaust" pipe sticking up, right? What is it for?

Ah. No tee. That's an extra piece I made so that when he has to service his pump, he can take his intake screen off the bulkhead and push that piece in so that the sump won't drain onto his floor while the pump is not connected. I stored it back there so he wouldn't lose it.

It was an EXTREMELY tight space in that stand. I am surprised we managed to get things working at all.

Oh, ok. Makes sense. Although it seems like he might still get a little water draining before he connects that piece on there.

Nah, you turn off the pump. Close the ball to keep water from the returns dropping back in. Then just plug the piece into the bulkhead and then open up the unions to remove the pump. Only thing that will drain is the space between the bulkhead and the pump and the ball valve on the output and the pump.
