I can only imagine how much it would be to ship a 100G glass show tank though! I'm lucky to only live a state away from glasscages. Either way, I've heard a lot of good things about glasscages - a bunch of people from here have bought from them. HTH

But oh, glasscages will charge you a much smaller handling fee if you're able to come to one of their shows and pick up your tank. Might save you a good amount of change if they're coming your way!

there's always aquarium obssessed where I got my tank. They're in canada, but shipping a ~200 gallon was reasonable at about $300 iirc.

What is the website to the aquarium obssessed? I googled it and got nothing but some weird sites, that I frankly, I don't know if I will recover from.

My 58 from glass cages shipped to New York, $50.

My friend's 240 72x24x24 shipped to the same place $100.

Check "shows" on the GC website. If you can get to one of the shows and pick up your tank, it will save you a bundle!

hmmmm.....Glass Cages appears to be like an 8 hour drive from here.....intersting.

I read this on the warranty page:

SET UP INSTRUCTIONS
All aquariums must be set up on commercially manufactured stands only. A sheet of 3/4" styrofoam (reaching completely side-to-side and front-to-back) must be placed between the tank and the surface of the stand.

I have not seen this before? I am assuming that the foam crushes and the tank self levels. Since I would be making the stand myslef - do I have to run a lip aroung the tank to cover this up? Will I go insane trying to keep the area between the tank and the lip clean?

Len, knock it off. We all know that, from lack of pictoral evidence, you HAVE NO TANK!

Peace,

I just bought a 65G cube from Glasscages.. and I recommend them highly. was 4hr trip one way for me.. but well worth it.

They built my 65g out of 1/2" glass. It's built like a tank and looks great.

the foam is just to take care of any unlevel surfaces. I also built my tank and did make a lip to go around the outside.

Also, notice that if you build your tank it will void your tank warrenty.... but If you build it good you dont have anything to worry about..even without the warrenty.

Their tanks sit FLAT down on the glass bottom. there isnt a lip that they set on like a lot of tanks.
