Is that Aqua-safe a good unit? Worth paying $60 for? I would purchase it locally used.

Or is better to go with a Filter Direct 85GPD 5 stage RO/DI unit? That would also be used and $60 as well but plus shipping from California to Atlanta, so we're looking at about $90 total, I think.

I have no clue about RO/DI units and extremely need help/advice/recommendations fast! I need RO/DI water for my tank and there's now two people waiting for me to respond.

So thank you very much in advance, everyone! :D

I'd just get a brand new Aqua-Safe. Can't beat the price, add on a box of replacement filters to save on shipping and be set.

Someone please give me help with this! I need a good RO/DI unit and I have until tomorrow to close these deals or I lose my chance and have to look for something else. Should I go forth with one of these or not? Are they worth it or not?

Help. :(

I'm no expert, but I can tell you what I just bought and installed.

I got the RO/DIx2 unit on e-bay from Filter Direct Co. ($124.00 w/shipping) I received today and installed tonight. I had to go to home depot for parts to hook up to my washing machine line. I used the washing machine drain for waste water. I also had to take the RO and DI filters off the top to make it fit in the cabinet above the washing machine.

I tested the output and it was just a tick over 4/1 waste. No test yet for TDS. I've still got to buy a tester...

So far I'm happy with the purchase.

BT-

I finally bought a PPM meter for the unit I bought. Right now it running at

In = 770
Out = 0

Pretty effective don't you think?

The meter was $18 + 10 shipping from "Water Purification Supplies" on ebay.

Since you're using pre-filters, you could use your waste ro water to fill your washing machine- Save some money on your water bill.

That would take a long time though. You'd have to wait a couple of days between each load.

Do you do laundry every day?

B
No, but if you have more than one load it would take a couple of days. I usually do 2 loads of clothes every week. And then 2 loads for towels and sheets every 2 weeks or so. So we're looking at 4 sometimes 5 loads on some saturdays. I'm too lazy/tired to do laundry during the week! :D
