30-gallon in the front foyer...what to do with it?

Thought about FOWLR, thought about seahorses, thought about another reef, but am not sure what to set it up as.

Any funky suggestions for me?

I dunno a FOWLR limits you to smaller fish with that size, maybe a species specific tank of something cool... Mantis shrimp? Something else? Oh and I saw a really cool Pirates of the Caribbean aquarium fixture that looks so tacky it's actually cool!

Frogfish tank.

Bonsai acropora millepora tank. One small outcrop of rock with an acro colony on it, pruned for shape.

Xenia only tank. Let the weed go wild.

Carribean flower anemone garden, with lots of Sexy Shrimp.

Pizza anemone & domino damsels tank. Surprisingly effective display.

Cerianthid anemone species tank - heavy actinics and maybe even add a blacklight.

Conch fish species tank. Get a bunch of empty conch shells and buy a handful of the cardinal fish that lives commensually in them. It'll use even the empty shells, though it would prefer live conch. Use subdued lighting.

Vivarium. Dan Conner's the expert at this, check out his stuff. I'd vote for keeping pearlscale killifish in this, personally.

Banggai tank. Get wood pilings, seal them to keep them from leaching, then build dock pilings with them. Try to make it look like you're under a dock. Primarily keep a pair of banggais and some longspine urchins, but fill it out with other appropriate organisms for the habitat.

Xenia only tank. Let the weed go wild.

I had a 55 gallon opposite the front door in the foyer of a previous residence, it was taken over by xenia, with some caulerpa poking out here and there. I am sure I had a fish or two but I can't remember.

It was a big hit! People loved it! It almost turned into a problem because when the food delivery guy would arrive, inevitably he would be like "duuude, can I check that out??" and here I am holding my dripping bag of general tso's while the delivery guy stares slack jawed into the xenia asking all the typical questions. I eventually would have to kick them out so I could eat. It was pretty trippy I will admit.

I am pretty partial to both of these suggestions as well. Anemones are loved by non fishy types, but those suggestions would peak the curiosity of reefkeepers too.

Seagrass and one of those box wavemakers. Add a mangrove, a couple pipefish, cleanup crew, and some feeder rotifers and mysids. You know you want to do it now.
