hey has anyone had any luck with a flameangel in a reef tank? i know they pick at some coral but can they be swayed to eat other food or will they pick at coral anyway.

I believe it depends on the fish, each one has its own personality. I had a coral beauty and a bi-color angel and they both did not pick at my corals.
I also herd that it depends on at what age you get the fish at. the earlier the better. Less chance of picking up natural habits
Check and see what habitate they live in and the surrounding corals. Just to see if you have the same.

If you like them that much, try to talk to the LFS and see if you can swap for a smaller/ younger one and try that.

Mine does not bother anything. He is a perfect reef guest.

Mine picked at button polyps but generally left my mushrooms, soft corals, and lps corals alone. He was also really nasty towards new tankmates which really annoyed me (just a little precaution in case you plan on adding other fish to the tank after him).
