Great question, Andy. I'll be interested to hear the answers.

I do know they are commonly fed to Betta (freshwater fighting fish) to encourage breeding. My only concern regarding saltwater fish is that mosquito larvae are laid and born in freshwater. Many people recommend using only foodstuffs of marine origin as food for marine fish. However this rule is commonly broken.

Let's see what others can add...

Saltwater mosquitoes are abundant in marshes and mangroves.

Like any natural foodstuff if it is clean and pest free it will be very good for your fish. IMO

the mosquito larvae are ok if you dont mind collecting them and getting eaten by the parents in the process. just make sure that you collect them from unpolluted places

This may be a stupid assumption. But couldn't the larvae hatch and you have a house full of mosqitos? Can we say West Nile!

I once forgot to put a lid on a 55 gallon trash can I used for RO water in my basement. Dang mosquitos laid eggs in my RO water and I had a nice crop of larvae going. I posted up here (I had fed FW fish with mosquito but never marine) and was told to feed away.

The fish loved them
