I did get the sixline after the problem appeared, but the big maroon chased it out of the tank and onto the floor.

These were Crocea and they did really well until the snail infestation.

 Okay it's not quite funny, but it seems you've had every possible reefkeeper's plague!

Good to know.

Since they shipped me a box of dead stuff for $300 a couple of years ago and laughed at me when I asked them to make it right, I try to shop elsewhere.

Prior to that they were my #1 choice.

Never bought livestock from them. But every dry good order I've put in went super smoothly and every time I've asked to price match something, it was a breeze. Except for salifert test kits, which they don't price match on, for some odd reason...

Just remember that they ship for free on most items/orders, though. :D

I've bought a few grand worth of dry goods and have always been satisfied. I would think twice before buying livestock. I live about 350 miles north of LA, so it isn't like they had to perform heroics.

I've also had very good experiences with Premium Aquatics. They are my current favorite.

I'm actually probably going to purchase live rock from premium aquatics in the next couple of months. Hopefully it'll be ok shipped to GA.

There are two vendors that sell aqauacultured live rock in Tampa Bay. You might want to use that, since it is so close. I had it, and haven't decided whether or not to get it again.

Same here. They seem to be compeditive on the prices for dry good and the customer service if great.

You could get it as base rock and then get some highly branched stuff for decoration.

Pros:

Lots of life, including sponges, some hard corals, etc.
More environmentally sound than robbing the reefs of "rubble" which is still habitat.

Cons:

Lots of life that won't live, like barnicles, a subset of the sponges, etc.
You need to do all the curing yourself in situ.
Mantis shrimp city.
Dense, roughly spherical pieces that are hard to stack and build stuff with.

Was just at Home Depot, they have 27 watt flood lights that put off 150watts lumunette for 34.97. I almost bought them, three of them are a little steep this week. Thinking about buying one a week and installing them. They are Power compact too.
