i am building a 12"x12"x24" refugium for my 55 gallon reef tank, i already have a wet/dry sump. can i hook up my fuge to the wet dry? and how do you do this. my tank is not drilled, i have a overflow box.

Can you have the fuge higher than the sump? And can you drill the fuge? If so, feed the fuge with a powerhead from the sump and gravity drain the fuge back into the sump where your return pump is. That's one way to do it. Or you could have the fuge higher than the display itself and feed it with a powerhead and gravity feed the display.

It is much better for a variety of reasons to have the fuge drain into the main tank. Make sure that it won't cause a flood during a power outage.

yea leave ample room for spillover water in your sump in case the power goes out. remember, the tank at the bottom gets all the drainage in an outtage.

Physically test it before you get an ugly surprise. It is embarrassing how easy it is to overlook something simple with plumbing.
