I just moved my tank to my neighbor's house. Water is still pretty cloudy from the substrate. My fish are in a cooler with some live rock and a pump. At this point I'm wondering where to put the fish(orchid dottyback, yellow tang, coral beauty, green chromis). Also have a frogspawn coral. If the water isn't going to settle down soon is it ok to keep them in the cooler?

IMO the biggest problem in the cooler is air and temp. I dont think it will be a bad thing to put the fish in the tank with it a little cloudy. If it is the same water you should be OK

I wouldn't leave them in the cooler unless you have a heater and air stone at a minimum. I would put the fish in if you have to. I did a 15 to 30 gallon upgrade and was forced to literally throw everything into the new tank and run out the door (swap took much longer than anticipated) as cloud was still so thick you couldnt see through the tank. Every thing was fine the next day. Of course, I felt very lucky.

Do you have some water on hand to do a water change? That would probably not help it settle down, but would get some of the funk out while it is suspended.
