Aquarium Supplies and Pets spam

Anyone else get an email spam from the titled website with personal login information? The site is "powered by Reefaquariumguide." It's very annoying that an admin would use your registration to automatically register you to another site that you didn't ask to register to, and then spam you from said site. But then again, the admin of RAG has done [i[so[/i] many dubious things in the past that I'm not at all surprised.

Wow! I just deleted it without opening it. I almost opened it and thought just someone trying to sell something. Maybe every member should be E-mailed about the scam if such a thing can be done easily.

It doesn't look like a scam. It just appears RAG used their members' registration info to enroll them in another site they created. It's not as bad as if they sold registration information to an unrelated third party, but it's still annoying and not right IMHO.

I recieved it, then another this morning saying to ignore the previous one with an additinal login and password

I started thinking someone else was out there using my email address, not cool that they did that :?

Me too Len . What is even more interesting to me, is that RAG banned me because they thought I was doing something I wasn't doing, but they still send me emails (including the recent one) even though I have asked that they either stop or unban me.

I'm still pseudo-banned too (I can't log into their system from certain computers, but I'm not 'technically' banned). Yet, I get spam from them all the time. The way they conduct their business leaves much to be desired.

After what went on over there I have no interest in that site.

if it's a commercial site they registered you to without your express permission, i'd say you have definite grounds for a complaint to the ftc-and it may have been illegal for them to have done so
