Rescue Blenny inside my Megaflow/Overflow.

I had not seen my blenny in two days. So today I was cleaning glass and such decided to look for my boy. Up and down crevices and caves no sign and no signs of death. Yesterday I found my nudi in the sump so i decided to take a look and see if the strainer had fallen and the idiota blenny was chilling on the strainer inside the megaflow chamber, soon as he saw me he dipped. What the! got a net tried no luck. How he got there ???
PLEASE ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!

If you have enough back flow in the sump, remove the pipes.
Either he'll "slip n slide" into the sump or it will give you more space to use the net.

I tried that but all honesty putting the macho in the closet, I'm scared for him :frown:. Removed the overflow pipe and The water got down to about 3 inches high and he did not go down flow and it is a strong flow. Tried to net him but he stayed in the little corner where the return is and I think daceman glued that part will call to ask him but it's hard to remove. Will go get something to eat and build up some courage and try it again:happysad:.
Thanks for the suggestion Deviuos it is the most logical thing to do.

It's killing me on how he got in there though.

Use a small brine shrimp net, or your hand. Blennys don't bit.

What about a hook with some bait? Just kidding.
Since blenny likes to hide in crevice or holes, I would provide this puny guy a better-than-corner hideout. A small, long bottle could do the trick, something that's natural is even better. Once he gets in, you have your job done. I have my bicolor blenny always hiding in a big shell, and he is the easiest-to-catch fish in my tank.

I'm not afraid of him biting me. Please if he did that I would let him grab my finger hold him and drop him in the tank:wink1:. No I'm afraid of him having a traumatic event he won't recover from. The blenny happens to have the same character as my cat does what he wants when he wants and allow you to see him on those terms as well. Last week he was stuck on my hydor, I turned it off and he continued feeding on it instead of booking for cover.

he is the easiest-to-catch fish in my tank.

I wish but he's not technically in my tank. The bruto is in my megaflow chamber.

I cursed you out last night when I went to bed at 4am tying in the chiller and again when I called out sick today ... Welcome to the club. I've seen many nights of break night just like the clubing days and going straight to work after, only that now it's working on our pride and joy hobby then to work. Sorry i'm on vaca and cant give you a hand. if it can wait til the weekend count me in. Hope you managed enough to get this started.

Blenny rescued. Complete removal of return and overflow pipes. He still managed to corner himself I had to use two big nets, a small net and a tong and risking the loss of my hood. Oh well, It just seemed like it would be easy but it wasn't. So he's back in the tank and I sent him to his cave.

Excuse the 2 45's I purchased the wrong 90 so I had to improvise. Hey, but I at least I used Union's on the flex and made the installation very accesible for work or removal. Weekend, don't forget bowling thursday.
