Hey All,

I bought a 55w PC light yesterday. The LFS wanted to check that it would fire up, so the guy checked it using a 96w ballast. It worked and lit up fine. A few hours later I got home and put it in my 55w ballast, and it won't fire up.

Question: Did LFS harm the bulb by testing it on 96w ballast? If not, it's possible that I bumped/jarred bulb while on way home.

Please let me know what you think, as I don't want to try returning the bulb if the LFS is not at fault. The guy is generally very knowledgable, and nice, too.

Thanks! :)

Don't think the bulb got fried just firing up once. Afterall icecap ballasts put more juice through T5 bulbs too, while it does shorten their lives it doesn't kill them in one shot.

If you have a multimeter test to see if your ballast is work electronically. I would go back to the LFS (if it's close) and have them test it again to see if it's the bulbs problem.
