Quick question. Need to know what pump size and bulkhead to order. Tank is a 10g AGA with overflow box dumping to 10 refug. Tank will need med-high water movement, just dont want to pressure wash anything inside tank with the returns. Bout 4 ft of head and can use submerseable pump if needed. Should I be getting the 3/4inor the 1in bulkheads?
Thank

For a 10 gallon, you won't need more then a 3/4" In fact, most of the pumps you'll going to consider is 1/2" input and output. That said, 3/4" is a good size since it's easier to step down and impossible to step up in diameter.

Pumps to consider: Eheim 1250 or Mag 3 or 5 if you're relying on your return pump as your sole source of water movement. You can use smaller pumps if you plan on using other circulation devices too.

Will this pump be your only source of circulation? If it will be you may want to consider the 1". You can difust the flow in the tank with a wye if you need or a capped pipe with lots of holes drilled in it. If you are going for SPS you should aim for somthing that will give you about 400-500 gph at 4 ft of loses, IMO.

Do you have a preference for external or submersible?

Mag (Sub)are good and so are panworld (ext)
