GIESEMANN MEGACHROME MH LAMPS?

Sunlight supply has a 400W 14.5K and a 20K bulb. Has anyone seen these Giesemann lamps in action? I know the german company is generally known for high quality... but I've been told 20K lamps have been subpar thus far in the industry's history.

Any input on these particular lamps?

They're great lamps, B. You will find that the kelvin ratings are a bit exaggerated, though. The 14.5K is more like a true 10K. Pure white. The 20K will look like other 14K's, like the Phoenix or Hamilton.

Do they make a 400W DE, now?

yea.. thats the link to them .. actually its a 22k lamp i believe.

That's the Megachrome Blue. I used to run the 250W DE. IIRC, it's slightly whiter than the Phoenix 14K.

I also ran the 250 DE 20ks for a while. Liked the color a lot, though, as you'd expect, I got noticeably less growth than I had under 10ks.
