Cycling Problems. Help!

I have a 40g tank and began to cycle the tank a week ago with 6 pieces of small live rock. My nitrite level is still zero as is my amonia level... is this right? Surely the amonia & nitrite levels should be going up by now? Small anemones on the live rock seem to be dying as well. Please help me someone!

Did you purchase cured LR? If so you may not see much of a cycle. If you didn't try throwing in a piece of frozen fish food into the tank and see if that starts the cycle.

oh, btw IMO you might also want to throw all LR in at once. So that you dont get mini cycles every time you add LR
