I would worry about the radiant getting picked on by the candy hog in such a small tank. I also think a 40 is a bit on the small side for a full grown radiant wrasse. :D

I thought candy hogs weren't as 'bastardy' as the other hogs.

The radiant will be moved within the year to a bigger tank...like a 75 or larger.

Do they all seem happy? Is your 40ga a reef tank?

Yes, the 40g is a full reef.

No fish has been added to any tank yet. They're all 'on order' at the LFS.

I think you will be fine with your list. Be careful with the flame angel that he doesn't nip at your coral. It may not happen but just keep an eye on him.

NICE TANK! I think I saw it on another thread.

You could throw some of those corals(frags) my way.

The one I had in my 155 wasn't overtly hostile the way, say, a nasty dottyback can be, but "little bastard" is for sure an apt description. I think one would completely take over a 20.

My cherub was a saucy little man. He would often get right in the face of my two large tangs and give them a big fin flashing sass, without fear! He had a very cool and fun personality, but in close quarters with other fish I fear that would be a little too much personality.

Well, I suppose I'll attempt it and find out.

Other than the solaris, I can't see the other three fish in there not being able to hold their own. The clowns will have an anemone for extra protection, as well.

Maybe I'll re-think the solaris wrasse.

Peace,

Chip

Out of curiosity if the fish is going to go into a bigger tank, why not just wait?

That's a good point. I guess it depends on how small it comes in.

If it comes in small, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Chip, sorry for buggering up your thread. ;)

Mihn, the Atlantic blue tang is easy to keep. He was very shy when I first got him, about 2 years ago. He was quite belligerent in the 75G. His demeaner changed quite a bit when I moved him into the 300G. He stands his ground against my sailfin, but he's not really a bully anymore. I like him alot. I would consider him quite hardy and easy to keep. Best $20 fish I ever bought.

Anemonebuff, you're not wrong.

They tend to become "the one". I've seen then keep all new inhabitants out of several tanks. I've given up on the Lil bastards!
