finally got my 20 gallon fuge up and running. what is the proper lighting to use. right now all i have is live sand and some micro alge(chato)sp? i have a dual 65 watt currant, would this be to much? could i get by on less?

Sounds good here. you could probably get by with less. What color bulbs are you using? 50/50 10k 20k?

You can definitely use less. I have a 10 gallon sump and I am using a 9 dollar reading light that is PC from Home Depot. It uses a "Daylight" lamp and is around 6500K I believe. My Cheato is doing well. I really didn't have to high of nitrates so it isn't really exploding, but it is growing nicely.

That is plenty light. Maybe overkill. Probably wont hurt but keep your water quality good or you will have algae problems.
