Seven years ago I made a huge mistake and added these to my tank. They are a real nuisance and are sprouting up everywhere.
Does anyone know if Sundial snails will prey on Palythoa or do they strictly eat the colonial Zooanthids?

How about just peeling them off the rock and gluing them onto frag mounts and selling it back to your LFS? You'd make some $$ off of your nuisance coral. ;) That's what I've done with some of the soft coral in my tank that just goes crazy...

I had sundial snails before and they seem to prefer the smaller polyps. If your Palythoa is big, it might not touch it (though you may get lucky).

I'm personally avoiding polyps and mushrooms this time around :P

I made the same mistake. I have just recently started to win the battle for the zoas and palys and I am gaining ground on the mushrooms, although they have recently outflanked me and I might be screwed, since they moved to my basepiece center rock.
