This is my new 75 gal. Drilled for a sump and everything. And, yes, that is a giant hole in my wall where the tank is. I wouldn't have room to put it in my house otherwise.

is that thermostat for your whole house? Hopefully heat from the tank wont affect it. otherwise.. looks like a lot of fun!

EDIT: Congratulations!!! I hope you are very excited. I can see by your post number you arent new to SW. Glad to have you back.

Ha Ha I saw that and didnt want to raise another issue. Are you building a FOWLR or a reef? Before you put water into it and start your venture you may want to look into a few tank member specs. I can see the thick wall as a potential issue in the future for centering your lights, aquascaping and general maintance to begin with. I have a built in and of course, there are always those things that you wish you had done "If you had only known". Three built-ins that come to mind are mine, (At the bottom of the sig) Loueys, and Thales.

Yeah, I am not new to reefs.org but I phase in and out with how busy I get.

This is my first SW tank. I kept saving up and saving up but this is my christmas present so I am now spending my saving ups on lights and whatnot.

I have a goldfish tank

and a small "weird fish" tank. (fw puffers, glass catfish, and ghost shrimp)

The wall isn't really that thick and the tank is set back into it. The room behind is my office and I have access to over 3/4 of the tank from above in there. The thermostat is going to be moved. I thought that was understood when my loopy father in law was putting the hole in. The man is good at electrical but not so good at common sense. . . . at ALL. I am doing kind of a reef. No anenome or sps. Here's a view of the back to show how much room I have to work with. The hood will be replaced with some PCs but for right now it is keeping the cat from getting into my office and crapping on my stuff. . . .

Yugi-oh!!! LOL. I was watching that before my son went to bed. Dont forget to move the skimmer down below so you can see the tank from both sides.

Not Yugi-Oh. It is Fushigi Yuugi. Much better series :). I am a total dork, if you saw the rest of my office you would never stop laughing!

Everything will be moved to the sump. It and the little filter are just there because I was testing them with water and left them there until my sump is finished.
