i was moving a rock and notice red spikes growing on the bottom of the rock, can anyone help me identify it.

I don't know about you Chong, but what I have in my tank which I would describe as you have {red spikey things on a rock} look nothing like what is pictured in that article. They are actually little spikes, they are not branching nor are they round as in the pic in the article;
The Foraminifera, ("Hole Bearers") or forams for short, are a large group of amoeboid protists with reticulating pseudopods, fine strands of cytoplasm that branch and merge to form a dynamic net


I had a friend over who is pretty good with his knowledge of SW, and he told me it is good. And I have not seen any adverse problems with them. Mine are out in the open.

I know Deano, my brain is not that Fried. What I am trying to say, describe is that the ones in my tank do not seem to be connected at all. They seem to be free standing. But then again I do not have a microscope..
