Im going to light my new 30 gallon. I was going to buy a retro 2 x 96 watt CF. Is this enought light for LPS and Hydno? Also since im stretching it already, would i be better off to use two 96 watt 10 k or two 50/50 lamps rather than one 10 k and one atinic. Seems to me that the atinic looks pretty but is not going to provide the intensity i need.
DO I need more light? I could install three 96 watt lamps but trying to keep energy bills low. I do have 2 96 watt 50/ 50 quads lying around with no ballast. Im not sure if I should by a new ballast and install them instead. Please help me make a decision.

You'll appreciate some actinic to offset the yellow tint from some 10K PC bulbs. I think you'd be okay going with 2 50/50 lamps. You could also try one 10K and one 50/50 lamp, so you'll at least have 1/4 actinic.

LPS and Green Horns are moderate light corals, so I wouldn't worry too much about intensity.
