Best reef fish

Question: What are some of your favorite, reef safe fish. Please base this on your own experience. I keep looking for new fish but keep seeing the same ones that, either I don't care for, or are not RS. My wife has voiced her concerns that she doesn't want to me to buy any more 'rocks' :wink: :roll:

I personally like the saifin tang. THe regular one not red sea. It is very peaceful and pretty to look at. Another one that I do not have but will be getting soon is the Midas Blenny.

I second that. I have one and she's my favorite fish. Very entertaining.

Anything over 55 gallons or so: Radiant Wrasse, Halichoeres iridis

Super peaceful, bold, easy to feed, only a threat to very tiny shrimp, snails, and bristleworms.

Sorry, I guesss that would help. 125G with a juvinal sailfin :wink: , one clown and a royal gramma. Corals are mostly softies including GSP, candy cane, xenia, briarium, bubble, frogspawn and a cup coral. I'm interested in small fish that are active among the rockwork.

I would again say the Midas blenny or the bicolor blenny.

A few options...

Sixline wrasse if added last. Can be aggressive, but usually not a problem except to fish added after it.

Argi or Acanthops angel, single or trio/pair... again, if added last. Again, can be aggressive, but adding them last mitigates this usually.

Single Orchid Dottyback, or a pair - captive bred. Peaceful, hardy, and brilliant.

School of 4 Chromis - highly underrated, and add tons of movement

I've taken a liking to to fairy wrasses fm. Cirrhilabrus, they are peaceful but can hold their own, active and not shy. Bodianus bimaculatus is a neat little hog. Talbot damsels are nice to look at and aren't the terrors that other Chomis can become. All these fish are small and should be fine with your Zebrasoma. If I had the system for them I'd love to take my chances with a small shoal of anthias. The Midas blenny is in on my list to try soon.

I saw some Australian super male Scott's last week, simply amazing

The only thing to note with the wrasses is the jumping risk, I think.
