Why this florida mushroom keeps extruding its guts. I just cant seem to find a spot in the tank that makes it happy. Does it think its being attacked?

My ricordeas do that when I do a water change. They don't like it when I pour water too close to them. I usually take them out and put them in a container of water until they settle down. The guts or I call it throw up let off a horrible smell and it's not great for the tank. It should clear up quickly. If your mushrooms are just doing this out of the blue, then I don't know what to tell you. What are the parameters like?

My ricordia, hairy tonga, disosoma, and rhodactis are all thriving and growing like crazy. This is one of many mushrooms in the tank and has always done this. You may be correct about the top off being an issue as this tank doesnt have an ATO system of any kind. Ill have to consider using my POC float switch.

MY params from sunday were.

It is called the "Inside-Out Mushroom" and you can get a few thousand dollar for it if you auction it off on eBay....

 It actually looks kind of like a flower in this shot.

The crazy thing looks like it had guts coming out of it skin when I got home tonight. Maybe it would be happier if I threw it into the 120 next to my favorite SPS way up high under the MH. :D

My lavender ones do that more often that the others. It's usually when it's disturbed or doesn't like something but I don't make anything out of it because as far as I'm concerned it's like when corals retract tentacles and things like that. It doesn't happen often and they're open wide and look very happy almost all of the time so I feel fine about it. :)
