I am setting up a new 210 tank and need some advice-

1. which powerheads-- tunze turbelle or the sea swirl wavemaker???

2. Lighting plan for 4x96 actinics, 2x250 hallides (10000) and 1 400 (14000) - any thoughts???

3. with a calcium reactor do I need kalkwasser also?? I have read to wait and see and start with the calcium reactor alone??

4. I have cured rock for about 3 weeks in a separate container, before tansferring fish, corals from my 75 should i run the skimmer for a few days and then transfer ????

thanks

This is all my opinion...

1) What about closed loop circulation? I am trying to get rid of all my powerheads desperately. I hate them and the room they take up in the tank and the maintenance that they represent.

2) Not sure about the 400. 210 is only 24 in deep, yes? I might go with 3 250s and save on the electricity bill. I think you'll be happy with the rest of the lighting setup.

3) This depends on your load. If you have mega calcium comsumers, then you will need mega supplements, otherwise your calc reactor should be fine.

4) Run the skimmer for a couple days after putting the new rock in the tank.

Good luck! I will be doing a similar move in the future hopefully, except I will be trying to move from a 150 to a 210 that has to go in the same position as the 150! 8O
