just wanted a bit of general advise from you guys, i have had my tank going for a fair few months now, it's a 36gallon with no sump, under blue/white actinic T5's the water is good, no nitrite ammonia or phosphate, 5ppm nitrate, calc 460ppm, and need to think of what to do/get next, i have plans to upgrade the skimmer, i have a prism, and now see why you all dislike it, i was thinking of going with a turboflotor, i seem to be having a bit of a problem with algae at the moment, it's not out of control, but is excessive. maybe it's because the skimmer is no good?
anyway, i was going reef with the tank, and so far have the following in there:
2 percula clowns
2 skunk cleaner shrimp
1 banded coral shrimp
3 'turbo' snails
possibly 3 emerald crabs
1 leather coral
1 'polyp colanly' (sp?)
as it stands at the moment, everything seems to be happy in there, the clowns are should mating behaviours and the emerald crabs seem to be breeding.
basically, what do you think of my idea of the new skimmer, anyone had any experience with it?
any idea's will other corals i can get in there? i have the T5's in there so sps are out, and i probably best to avoid lps as well
and what else do you think i should get fish wise, i want something i can keep on it's own, some kind of blenny/gobi type. but with the size of the tank i have, i can probably only really get one more fish.
i will get some pictures of the tank if you wanna have a look?
cheers for any help
