We are starting to get the condo together to put on the real estate market. I need to get rid of the tank mess thats in the living room.

I can remove all the stuff not being used and the fresh SW mixing tub and only bring it out when used but I will have to keep the FW reservior out and I can put it away when we have people to show the condo to.

Problem is I have a Kalk reactor next to the tank adn the plumbing to it. DO you think its making a big difference in my 58G tank when I have a CA reactor running as well? I need to hide the ballast for the MH as well.

I am trying a find a way to keep the tank running and make the living room look presentable and not like a LFS. If I cant I will have to tear the tank down.

If its just temporary you may want to consider removing it, testing a little more often and dose manually with the intention of hooking it back up. If you want to go for a more permanent situation, then remove it and start tweaking the CA reactor(and test PH often) to make up the difference. Only time and experimentaion will tell on the second alternative. IMO you should be able to get away with just a Ca. reactor on the 58 if you dont have PH issues. Dont forget though, you wont have the offset for the PO4 that the Ca. reactor gives you.

Have you considered hiding it somehow? Maybe build a box that matchs the stand to hide it in?

I would only really worry about the pH dropping to much at night with out the kalk reactor going. If you must just take it off and keep an eye on the pH as mentioned by Trido.

I took mine off line and had no problems.
