I read this article with some enthusiasm as I replaced my halide bulbs and observed a disturbing green cast to one of them (400W Ushio 10K HIT). I went and read these articles. Last night, I serviced the housings, and decided to rotate the offending bulb (1 week old) such that the nipple, which was facing directly down, was now facing 90 degrees (sideways). The result was an unquestionable and, quite remarkably, instantaneous improvement in "white light" quality. The greenish cast eminating from the offending bulb was gone just as soon as it was re-lit, (which was astounding to me). It was easy to see with my set-up, as there are two identical bulbs, in two identical housings against a white painted background. The green hue was easy to see, and it did, in fact, disappear upon rotating the nipple to the side.

IME, nipple orientation makes a big difference with some bulbs and none at all with others. Ushio 10K is one of the tubes that makes a noticable difference.
