i recently purchased 3 maxijet mp 1200(295g/h) powerheads and a natural wave multi timer, but i am not exactly sure where i should position these power heads to get the best wave/flow. i set one up in the top left back corner and then set the other two up in the top right back and front corner.

It would mostly depend on your rockwork.
You may even want to look into doing some MJMODS from here: http://www.mjmods.com/ . You can greatly increase the flow and random patterns, utilizing just two MJ1200s with the two main plugs on the Natural Wave. Save energy and become more efficient
