Marine Depot REFRACTOMETER

Hey,

I put some of my RODI water on the glass of my marine depot refractometer and it reads an even 1 on the PPT. Should I recalibrate it down to 0?

Yeah, I would recalibrate it. You can always get some bottled RO water and use it as a control.

If you can distinguish 1ppt from 0 ppt you have better eyes than I do.

i called marine depot, and he said that as long as the line across the bottom was constant it was set (reguardless of the elevation of the line)

Put tap water on it, and you won't see any difference from the RO/DI. I would dial it down to zero, but one ppm is not that big of a deal if you remembers it.... my computer clock is always 3 minutes and 23 sec ahead...
