I have had the tank running for some time and never noticed a majano anemone. I went away this weekend and came home to 10-15 of them. I injected them with hot kalkwasser last night.

Any good ways to get rid of them?

Will peppermint shrimps eat them like aiptasia?

generally no- I've never had any creature be interested in Majanos, the only success I have ever had is the Kalk slurry/syringe method of erradication.

Turn off your pumps and cover them with a THICK paste of kalkwasser. Leave the pumps off for about ten minutes to let the paste harden up before turning your flow on again.

I have ben fighting these guys for 7-8 years, almost got them all now! Whatever you do, don't let them get out of hand, I ignored mine because I htought they were kinda cute. Big mistake!!! I had thousands easily. Only one or two now.

I suggest moving your tank to Connecticut.

I have about 4 of those buggers in my tank. I don't care for them too much, they seem evil. I'm going to get some kalkwasser.

I tried Kalkwasser, Joe's juice, and epoxied them in their hole and always seemed to come back after a few months. I finally pulled the rock they were on and took a propane torch to them. Problem solved. It has been over a year. There were also several SPS on the rock and no harm done. Do not let them multiply.

Never had mojo (except in college, the babes were all over me then) but for aptasia, I got a couple of peppermint shrimp and a copperband butterfly. I am not sure which did what, but a pretty severe outbreak was gone in a week.

I do not reccomend gettin creatures specifically for problem solving, as typically when the food runs out, the creature dies :-(

My LFS, whom I trust, told me that this CBB I bought is already eating Mysis fine, so I got it.

And the peppermint, well, they will eat anythng anyway.
