Does the noise bother you?

How did you quiet the skimmer, water sounds, etc?

I have a skimerless 5 g on my nightstand and it is very quiet. I tried to quiet a 20 extra high and after 2 years of noise it had to go.

I have mine in my bedroom. I have an enclosed stand which is lined with a dampenning foam (Nitroprene) that does not absorb water.

The only thing that gets me, is when the Tunze is actually changing speeds :D

Then again, I can not sleep in a totally quiet room.

I've had tanks in my room before, and when the power goes out, I can't get to sleep because of the silence.

Like Gresham, I can't sleep in a totally silent room.

I'll put a tank in the bedroom again when I own another house.

I had a nano in my room. No skimmer though, so it was quiet. I had halides on it though and it got unbearably hot during the summer days (and nights). Other then that, no regrets. I might try another one, but with T5 lights and low light corals.

Well, I do, but mainly because I get to sleep on the couch a lot. :D

I find that the water noise actually helps me sleep. I have a Durso pipe (made by the man himself) so it doesn't sound like a leaky toilet.

I have a problem with the "blooping" sound. I wish I could fix. My tank is in my living room though, I couldn't take the sound in my bedroom.

That running water sound has a slightly different effect on me sometimes esp in the middle of the night.

Well, I know who I'm calling when I'm cataloging my DVD at 4 am.....;)

I have my 20 in my room, right next to my head, and it's a bit noisy, but quite pleasant, except when my water runs low and my skimmer suuuuuucks water.
