Live Rock

I was wondering if there was an easier way to get live rock. Do i have to use Fiji or pacific rock? I live near San Fransico and i was wondering if i could just go down to the beach and pick up some pouris rocks and let the alge grow. I guess my question is does it have to be a special rock, or can i just go a get a pouris rock?

Does anyone know any good jobs that are fun and exciting for aquarist. Or any kind of job that has to do with Fish.

This is really a debated topic. You may be introducing potentially harmfull diseases and pathogens into a foreign system. Comparable to Europeans giving Native Americans small pox. Otherwise assuming your San Frans rock is calcium based you could use it. I use concrete in my tank as well as that decorative rock you buy at stores that is I think coquina.
