I have had great success with putting 10 peppermint shrimp in my 30 gallon tank and seeing large aiptasia (glass anemones) DISAPPEAR. This is after taking advice in these forums on how to deal with this nuisance.
I also have my large hermit crabs (the 3 that have taken over large mexican turbo snail shells) munching on clumps of hair algae like cotton candy. Once they find it, they sit there and munch for a few days until it is gone. In the main tank (120 gallon) they have too many other things to munch on so they weren't doing much over there.
I have been moving rocks with aiptasia on them from the main tank to the terminator 30 gallon tank. When they are clean, I move them back.
I want to keep these shrimp and crabs happy when there isn't much to eat in there....any recommendations on feeding when not much left naturally growing on the rocks?
