i have a purple tang and i was at alfs today and found a desjardini tang there but they r both zebrasomas i heard that putting 2 of the same class of tang togothewr in the same tank can cause some agression could these fish live peacefully togother in the same tank ?

Before we can even attempt to answer your question, you should know we have to ask a question of you: How big of a tank?
With those two fish you're asking for trouble in smallish tanks.

All tangs, even if they are in different genus, will fight at first. They all eventually learn to settle down and live peacefully, but during the early stages, one tang may get severely beat up. If you have a large tank with plenty of hiding spots, you will likely be okay. If it's small (say, under 90 gallons), I wouldn't attempt adding a new tang to a tank with an established tang.

its a 220gal tank as far as hiding spots there are some but i dont have a lot of rock only about 200 lbs worth

what do ya think?

ya i was thinking the same thing :) looks like i get a new fishy tommrow
i was pretty excited when i found the desjardini , they are a pretty rare find as i understand it or at least in this area

this will up the population to
1 tomato clown
1 majestic angel
1 sail fin blennie
1 purple tang
1 royal gramma
1 desjardini tang :)

the tank is evolving :)
