Hey has anyone ever had any issues using this for phosphate removal? Regarding precipitants and coating of pvc and like components. Just have some issues with it.

Lanthinum ion will precipitate out phosphate in the same way calcium will. I'd be worried about the lanthinum that remains in solution.

La may works better than Ca since in order to precipitate out P, the pH needs to be pretty high (rusty chemistry here...). However, I agree with you that it is not a very common ion in NSW, and I would stay away from it unless there is no other option, such as water change, etc.

Actually it's a quite common product used in my industry just was curious if it had casued any channeling of sand filters, plating on PVC, etc...
