I see a few types of underwater epoxy for sale. Some green and white but mixes to a white color, while others are gray and others are pink. The pink one is more expensive then the rest. Are there any differences or is it only a matter of color?

The only sure way to know would be to check the ingredients.

the only difference i know of is the color. there is some difference in quality between brands as well. aquastick is the better brand, of the 2 i have used, and it comes in gray and purple. purple is for people that want the epoxy to blend into the rock more. it doesnt really matter as the coralline will cover both quickly anyway.

The pink stuff seems more plyable to me.

But it is too expensive.

I usually just buy the gray stuff.

Don't mean to impose but, can ya use any plumbers putty? Or does it have to be "Marine Fish Safe" special extra cool pink putty?

Junior, junior, junior. Once you lose a couple grand in corals you will always think twice and ask thrice. Would you trust anything a plumber uses as clean to use? No, really it would be rather raw with petro chemicals and not highly refined. Just a little ribbing Slayer. It's done alot around here from time to time. Welcome to the board! Love ya brother :P
