New Here...any clubs or meetings?

Hey all, I am new here. I live in CT., Yet spend most of my week in Manhattan, as I have worked there for the past ten or so years. Is ther a club or anything you all meet at to trade and stuff? I have tried to join the Connecticut reefers society, yet all the meetings are soooo far away fro where I live and given that I work in Manhattan, I thought I could join a more accessible club/group of people. I am in Manhattan All the time.

Welcome to Manhattan Reefs!

There's no Manhattan Club. Alot of people on here go to the Long Island Reef Association (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=156) and the Brooklyn Aquarium Society (http://www.brooklynaquariumsociety.org/main.htm)
I've been to a few LIRA meetings and they are a bunch of good people and you can usually pick up on some really nice trades. But I'm sure that's an even farther drive for you.
We've had some pretty successful group buys and store visits on here, where I've gotten to meet alot of people on the board.

Thanks everyone, I will check out some of the group buys....If no club, maybe we could do a frag swap or something once in a while, or road trips to lfs"s ...though I never find much at the LFS'S.

Maybe some in Jersey worth a trip or maybe call reefsplendor for a road trip, I iknow they allowed a visit from upstate reef society! Food for thought.
