It's been so long, that I can't even remember the last time I had a reef without a tang in it.

I sold my Sohal and my longtime resident Purple tang last week. It was very difficult to do, but I really want a more peaceful tank.

Anyway, I could use some help in deciding on what to add. I still have about 15 or so chromis, along with 3 orchid dottybacks. I've added a pair of lyretail anthias, and am thinking of adding at least two more females.

I made requests for a black tang and a pair of zebra angels at different LFS. Waiting to see what comes up. I'd like to have a baby tang again, but one that's a bit more passive. The two that come to mind are the black or desjardin tang.

I like the desjardin, since it coincides with a Red Sea biotope and is A LOT cheaper than a black :P

Not holding my breath for the zebra pair, as I rarely see them for sale locally.

I'll keep an eye out for zebra genicanthus pairs. I see them from time to time in SoCal. Black tangs rule! :)

I'm a huge fairy and flasher wrasse fan, so I'd get a pair or small harem if I were in your shoes.

I'd like to get a pair of eightlines, but I like the idea of a harem of anthias. I really like fish that schoal.

I'll either add a tang or the zebra pair, but not both. I'm leaning toward a tang, since I'd like to have a grazer. Thanks for offering to keep an eye out.

Hey Karl,

Jim is at aquaticbliss.com now and I think they still have a black tang.

:D

I think that one's gone. Jim told me about it a few weeks ago, but I wasn't at this point then :?

I added 4 lyretail anthias (1-M; 3-F) and a sixline wrasse, so I'm still within the Red Sea biotope theme :P

Right now, I like the fishload. If I do decide to add a grazer, it'll likely be either a baby desjardin or purple tang (hopefully, I can find one at 2").

Thoughts?

Don't go for the Desjardini unless you want a very fast growing tang Karl. They tend to become bullies as well.

Yeah, I forgot they get over a foot. If the last addition will be a baby purple tang, I think that would be more than enough.

I love baby tangs. My blues are 2-1/2" now. They were 3/4" when I got them.

Lyretails are so pretty. Especially for a cheap fish.

I lost my male and got to watch one of my females trasistion into a male. That was cool.

Now I only have two females and one male. Wish I had a couple more females. That orange color on the females is so vibrant.

Nice little additions. I almost regret adding the larger fish I have in my tank and not getting a few more smaller species to really get the full or busy reef look.
Also I love the way you built the fock formation with the acros on it in the back ground. Even without color it has an almost alien beauty of its own.
