Hello All...

I have a question... i have some tangs in the tank at the moment, all are happy and dandy. 1 shoal, 1 achilles, 1 Hippo and a 12 inch Naso. all livingin a 180 gallon with no fighting what so ever.

My friend is taking down his tank and i am interested in getting his Naso Blonde streamer, and a Salfin tang... They both are decent size, (bigger than my fishes except Naso)

My question is, Will the Naso Blonde live together well with my existing Naso??

I would love to have a pair of Naso in my Reef, they have such a nice temperament... all helpful inputs are welcome, especially Past experience with large Naso's

Thanks!

I doubt it, I just can't see a 12 inch Naso in a 180 with his established group of tang buddies accepting a new Naso into the tank. Stranger things have happened though.

BTW, nice tank!

I don't think your tank is large enough for more large fish. I would decline.

how about the new comer is larger than the existing??

anyone have previous experience with pairing with Naso?

We tried putting an adult Naso lituratus into a 20,000 gallon tank with an established adult of the same species. They fight constantly and will probably need to be separated eventually. Needless to say, I don't think it will work out in a 180 gallon tank.

Matt: Thank you for your input. so are you currently working fo rthe Steinhart Aquarium? I have went to numerous aquariums around the world, and i have found the have more than 1 Naso in their displays...

I would like to conduct some experiments, maybe making a divider to observe closely their behaviour... then decide on next step.

i do understand it is not recommended, however, i have seen it in tanks in Hong Kong.

Update:

I have sucessfully introduced them in the same aquarium. No aggression what so ever. maybe due to the fact that they are of different sex.

Lucky one. all content now.

Nope, 2 5X5inch sheets of Nori, and 1-2 cubes of Mysis/day.

But yeap, they are like pigs..

most of all my fish are in pairs, clowns, chromis, 6 line wrasse, Naso tangs... hahaha

I guess with this fishload i have to change my Rowaphos more often! (i change 25 gallons a week)
