My male cardinal ate such a huge piece of food the other day, I couldn't believe how distended his abdomen became, so I thought I would share. I guess when you have to periodically go a month without eating, you learn how to pack it in when you can.

He is the one on the right of the photo.

No, they are not very active at all. They swim around a bit but mostly just hover together.
