montipora not opening

i got this rock 3 days ago from the lfs it has a large specimen of plating montipoira capricornus and a small colonie of montipora digitata

the monti d. has been open since i brought it home the plating monti has been closed the whole time

its in a 30in tall tank about halfway up the water column and its right under
a 250w 15k double ended hqi xm bulb on electronic ballasts ,with moderate flow any tips/sugestions thx

IMHO Too much light. Caps like moderate light.

well i had it lower in the water column the first 2 days and the coral looked the same
