When angels are moved, they go on hunger strikes for a couple of days. So long as he is picking at the rocks, you should be fine in the mean time. In the mean time, you might want to just put some nori into the tank. Most people might consider nori a tang food more than anything but I've seen many angels eat it also.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of angel is it?

From what I've read, majestics will hide a lot when introduced to a new environment. There is also the possibility that the purple tang is bothering it since the purple tang is the most aggressive fish in there. If he continues to hide, you should start worrying. He shouldn't be in hiding for more than a few days. You might want to try putting some food near his cave to ensure that he eats.

well he doesnt hide 24/7 but he does hide most of the time

him and my purple have allways got along, they were good buddies in my 54
the tang followed the angel around all day.

there seems to be alot more stress in there since i got the desjardinii

i think the des stresses my purple because they have same body shape
and so my purple is in turn agressive to my other fish? (does this sound likley)?

also the angel seemed to be eating more b4 i put in the desjardinii

have been considering taking him out
what do you guys think

thx

Majestics are shy and finicky, and he will certainly be hiding for more than a few days after introduction into the new environment, even under the best of conditions. The presence of aggressive fish just exacerbates the situation. The mistake you've made if I understand you correctly, is that you disregarded the stocking order just because you were moving existing fish to a larger tank, but what you need to realize is that all the same rules apply.
Shy/delicate fish need to be added first, with more aggressive and/or hardy fish being added last.

As far as the fish is concerned, it's the same as being brought home from the store.

Your Majestic should be added first, and allowed to adjust for at least a couple of weeks - the Purple Tang should be added last. Anything else, and you're rolling the dice.

Sometimes it comes down to removing the more aggressive fish for a time until the less belligerent fish gets settled, and establishes himself as the dominant inhabitant.
It can take a while.

ya i have been considering removing the desjardinii even though he is a
peacefull fish my purple tang is not, allthough he seems to leave the other fish alone all most all of the time.

before i introduced the desjardin everything seemed fine angel fish was eating normally everything was as it was in the 54 gallon(all same fish as in this tank minus the desjardini) all the fish seemed healthy.

now-a-days the purple tang pretty much leaves the desjardini alone.
but for some reason my angel fish seems to hide a lot more ,he hasnt been accepting food from me for about a week + a few days, his coloration has dulled.

what do ya think thx

Yes, watch closely and you might find the tang is asserting himself over the angel more than you think. Territorial interactions between fish can be very fleeting, and very subtle.
